Golf Tip: The Right Golf Posture

August 7, 2012

Golf Posture

When you start to play golf, you want to start with the right fundamentals. Having the right golf stance is the first part of setting up for a great golf shot. Next – make sure you have the right posture for a good golf shot. The correct posture is a key part of learning to play golf correctly.

In this golf tip, Minnesota PGA Professional Greg Schulze demonstrates how to have the proper golf posture. The correct posture puts you in the right position to have a balanced and athletic swing when you start to play golf.

Start by standing up straight and then put your hands palms-down on your thighs. Lean forward, keeping your back straight, until your hands slide down your legs and your fingertips  touch the tops of your knees. The amount you’re bending over is your proper golf posture.  If you’re a beginner golfer or trying to improve your game – check your posture often to make sure you’re in the right position to play!
