Get to know our Minnesota PGA Board Members

We’re putting a much-deserved spotlight on our Minnesota PGA Section members who serve our Section. The Minnesota PGA board consists of 12 members including the Executive Officers.

Our profile this month is:

Steve Fessler ~ Head PGA Professional – Riverwood National Golf Course

Steve is currently the Vice President and the Junior Golf Chairperson for the Minnesota PGA Section. Steve was honored in 2004 as our Junior Golf Leader.

What was your motivation to become a PGA Professional?

I loved the business aspect and the game of golf in general.

How are you growing the game of golf?

By maintaining a strong junior program for all levels of skill, energy, and development.

What was your greatest moment in golf?

Always playing with my son, father, and nephew.

Who has had the greatest impact on your career?

My father and cousin.

Besides golf, what else do you enjoy?

Golf!

If you could play any course in the world, which one would it be and who would complete your foursome?

Augusta National with my father, son, and nephew.

The Minnesota Section PGA consists of PGA Professionals who are experts in the game and business of golf. Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and involvement of the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals, the golf industry, people who play golf or would like to start playing golf. PGA Section Offices oversee the 41 geographic regions throughout the United States and provide the grass-roots network for the nation’s 25 million amateur golfers and with the PGA’s 27,000 members.
