Each month, we’re putting a much-deserved spotlight on our Minnesota PGA Section members who serve our Section.  The Minnesota PGA board consists of 12 members including the Executive Officers.

Our profile this month is:  Keith Kalny

Keith is the Director of Golf at Majestic Oaks Golf Club.

What year did you become a PGA Professional?

1991

What was your motivation?

Lee A Maiden III, the first Class A Professional I met and worked for.

How do you believe you are enhancing the game of golf?

By trying to provide a great golf experience with excellent course conditions, exceptional service, and fun, memorable tournaments.

What is your greatest moment in golf?

Still waiting for my first hole-in-one…

Who has had the greatest impact on your career?

Lee Maiden

When you are not golfing, how do you like to spend your day?

Playing acoustic guitar, writing golf songs, and all other sports.

If you could play any course in the world, which one and who would you play with?

The Old Course with Neil Young, Moe Norman, and Hunter S. Thompson

How have your contributions to the game of golf been recognized?

Bill Strausbaugh Award (Southwest section)

The Minnesota Section PGA consists of PGA Professionals who are experts in the game and business of golf. Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and involvement of the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals, the golf industry, people who play golf or would like to start playing golf. PGA Section Offices oversee the 41 geographic regions throughout the United States and provide the grass-roots network for the nation’s 25 million amateur golfers and with the PGA’s 27,000 members.
