Improve Your Golf Swing and Flexibility

January 23, 2014

Stretch for Success in Your Desk

Flexibility is a key part of a good golf swing. Here’s a quick stretching exercise from Minnesota PGA Professional Kathy Swanson to improve flexibility in your shoulders while still in the office in this video. This shoulder turn stretch will help you hit the golf ball farther and with more consistency.

  1. Sitting in your desk chair looking forward, reach behind you to the right or left and grab the back of your chair with both hands.
  2. Still looking forward and with your lower body within the seat, turn your upper body towards your arms.
  3. Exhale into the turn, then go a bit further.
  4. Do the same thing on the other side.

This simple stretching technique should help improve the consistency and distance of your swing.
