Lisa Grimes Wins Fourth Minnesota Women’s State Open

Domination at the MN Women’s State Open

Lisa GrimesProfessional Lisa Grimes from Alexandria GC, shot a two round total of 4-under par, 142 to win the 2014 Minnesota Women’s State Open Championship at Town & CC by eight strokes. Finishing alone in second at 4-over par, 150 was amateur and recent New Prague High School grad Kenzie Neisen from New Prague GC; and professional Martha Nause from Mendakota CC finished at 151.

Grimes is no stranger to the Minnesota PGA Women’s State Open Championship. She’s now won four out of 14 Women’s State Opens. A feat no one else can claim. Grimes dominated the event, winning by 8 strokes. Grimes was also the only golfer to score under par both days scoring 70 and 72.  Click HERE for results.

Grimes, who splits her time between Minnesota and Arizona maintains a busy life. With two children and three grandchildren Grimes also works as the Director of Instruction at Alexandria Golf Club. Next week Grimes heads to Indiana next week to compete in the Legend’s Championship as part as the LPGA Senior Tour.

Congrats to Lisa and all the players for competing.  Next year’s championship will be held at Hillcrest CC.
