Minnesota Section Spotlight on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive

April 27, 2016

The PGA of America, in honor of its centennial anniversary, will be spotlighting all 41 Sections and their PGA Professionals. The Minnesota Section spotlight aired Wednesday, April 27th on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive show. The spotlight featured the Ian Leonard’s Bad Pants Open presented by Treasure Island Resort & Casino, our annual charity pro-am with our PGA Professionals and Special Olympics Minnesota athletes, benefiting the Minnesota PGA Foundation and Special Olympics.

The day included a 9-hole PGA member – Special Olympics Athlete Pro-Am, clinics conducted by PGA members for the athletes, followed by an 18-hole charity event with the corporate sponsors.

This year’s event raised more than $60,000 for the two charities and the future of the event could not be more bright. The event has raised over $200,000 in its existence!

If this doesn’t make you want to get involved in the community and promote the game of golf, I am not sure what to tell you…

Be a part of making a difference and get involved with this great event! 2016 marks the 10th annual charity pro-am and the 6th annual Bad Pants Open which will be held Tuesday, September 13th at Medina Golf & Country Club.
