PGA REACH Military Clinic

September 28, 2016

On a windy, sunny day at Chaska Par 30 in Chaska Minn., PGA of America’s PGA REACH in conjunction with the Minnesota Section PGA and its local PGA HOPE program hosted a PGA REACH Military Clinic this past Monday of Ryder Cup week, September 26th.

The clinic lasted nearly two hours with local PGA Professionals providing instruction for the local veterans. The veterans were divided into the three groups, rotating to three different stations throughout the clinic. Each station had a separate focus with one honing in on putting skills, another working with each individual’s swing, and the other working on chipping around the greens.

Before the veterans took the course, PGA of America and the Minnesota Section PGA had some major announcements to make.

First, the Minnesota Section PGA Foundation donated $10,000 to our local Folds of Honor Minnesota Chapter for all the hard work they’ve done and will continue to do!

PGA of America also donated $5,000 to Wheaton Country Club in Wheaton, Minn., a course that was badly damaged due to vandalism just a month ago.

Lastly, GOLFZON donated a golf simulator to the local PGA Hope Minnesota Chapter for the use by local veterans.

It was a special day honoring those who served our country but also giving them they day to explore and learn the game of golf as anticipation and hype surrounds golf’s greatest spectacle at Hazeltine this week.

The Minnesota Section PGA consists of PGA Professionals who are experts in the game and business of golf. Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and involvement of the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals, the golf industry, people who play golf or would like to start playing golf. PGA Section Offices oversee the 41 geographic regions throughout the United States and provide the grass-roots network for the nation’s 25 million amateur golfers and with the PGA’s 27,000 members.
